Sarandi Eva

Molecular Biologist, Master in MSc by Research in Biomedical Sciences, University of Edinburgh.
Certificate holder for Metabolic and Nutritional Medicine of the European Institute of Nutrition Medicine, EINuM.

I graduated from the Department Of Biology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2014. My dissertation focused on the molecular background of bone metabolism disorders, where I was trained at clinical and research level.

I was awarded an MSc in Research in Biomedical Sciences with a Distinction from the University of Edinburgh in 2015. It was my first contact with the science of metabolism analysis, where I developed my postgraduate work at the Institute of Genetics and Molecular Medicine of the Edinburgh Cancer Research UK Center.

Through my participation in a research program on atherosclerosis, I was trained in laboratory molecular and cell biology techniques at the Institute of Biomedical Research of the Academy of Athens.

I have presented my work and have taken part in conferences and seminars in Greece and abroad. As a researcher, I have gained considerable experience in writing research papers and statistical analysis.

Through my course in the field of Biomedicine, I have discovered the countless mechanisms that the human body has to maintain homeostasis. The basis of these mechanisms starts with our cells, the smallest building materials of the organs, and the body by extension.

My acquaintance with Metabolomics and Dr Dimitris Tsoukalas came to confirm in practice what I was studying at the theoretical and research level.

''By targeting metabolism, we can approach the cause of the deviation from normal''.

Metabolomics studies very small molecules (metabolites) involved in cell processes. Detects any deviation from normal, which occurs as a pathology. It is one of the most reliable methods of assessing the individual's clinical status since it relies on the measurement of these small molecules in real time.

By restoring and keeping our cells in their normal condition, we can deal with or prevent the onset of malfunctions.

It is a great pleasure to see how simple changes in our diet and everyday habits bring about a significant improvement in our cells, body and mood!

I believe that a healthy body reflects prosperity, well-being and energy!
